The Milwaukee Brewers won the 2026 World Series with a 4-1 win over the Rays in Game 5 on Oct. 28. It’s the first championship in the franchise’s 57-year history. William Contreras was named World Series MVP.

Jacob Misiorowski threw five-plus scoreless innings before a right calf cramp forced him out with two outs in the sixth, ESPN reported. Rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt drove in the first run, and the bullpen closed it out. Contreras hit .381 in the Series, according to ESPN. MLB.com noted Milwaukee went 11-2 in the postseason, including a sweep of the Dodgers in the NLCS.

The cards that are already moving

Topps opened a Topps NOW World Series champions set at $69.99 the same night, Sports Collectors Daily reported. It includes 15 base cards, among them Misiorowski (with a rookie designation), Chourio, Contreras, Yelich and Pratt, plus one guaranteed parallel, variation or autograph. The chase cards include a signed Misiorowski 1/1 rookie Superfractor and a Misiorowski/Chourio confetti dual-auto booklet. The sales window closes Nov. 4, and the print run will be announced after that.

At Goldin, Jackson Chourio’s 2024 Topps Chrome Update MLB Debut Rookie Patch Auto 1/1 had an early bid of $120,000 when Sports Collectors Digest wrote about it on Oct. 26. The auction runs through Nov. 14. For context, Collectibles on SI reported Chourio’s 2024 Topps Chrome Superfractor rookie auto (PSA 9) sold for $78,000 in February 2025.

Misiorowski: a cheap base card and a soft high end

Heavy.com’s Game 1 analysis found a split market for Misiorowski. Card Ladder transactions on his 2026 Topps Chrome #196 rookie and parallels jumped from 36 to 91 in a day, but the ungraded base card’s median price held around $2.75. A 2022 Bowman Draft Gold Refractor auto /50 in PSA 10 sold for $11,100 on Oct. 23, down from $15,000 in September.

Speculation: A first title usually brings a wave of hometown demand, and Milwaukee fans are now buying for a winner. In our view, Chourio’s 1/1 is the best test of whether a championship adds a premium at the very top. Misiorowski’s ultra-cheap base rookies are the likeliest to feel volume-driven bumps. Neither is guaranteed. Heavy.com’s data showed that a historic performance didn’t automatically lift Misiorowski’s expensive autos.

Contreras is the name to watch. His best recorded sale, per SI, is a $5,750 Bowman Chrome Black Mojo 1/1 from 2022, the year after his World Series ring with Atlanta.

By the numbers
