Emma Roberts launches a Fanatics Live break channel, announced on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Actor Emma Roberts and her husband are launching Summer Breaks, a card-breaking channel on Fanatics Live, starting Nov. 4. Roberts announced it on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Oct. 28, Collectibles on SI reported on Oct. 29.
The channel will stream seven days a week. Roberts herself is expected to appear up to five times a month, mostly around big releases, according to Collectibles on SI. Summer Breaks joins nearly 100 active shops on Fanatics Live, including Tom Brady’s CardVault Breaks.
What happened on the show
Roberts and Kimmel opened packs of 1986 Fleer baseball on air. Kimmel eventually pulled a Darryl Strawberry, Collectibles on SI reported.
The channel will break both sports and entertainment cards. Some streams will include celebrity guests.
Not a hobby newcomer
Roberts already has a hobby track record. She pulled a 1-of-1 Jackson Holliday Topps Chrome card in January 2025. She also appeared in a 2025 Topps commercial with Lorraine Bracco, Collectibles on SI noted.
The couple is chasing a specific card: a 2023 Bowman Draft Tom Brady autograph numbered 12/50. They already own a different Brady autograph, signed at this year’s Super Bowl.
Why it matters
Live selling is a crowded race. Rival Whatnot expects its platform sales to more than double from last year’s $8 billion, ICv2 reported on Oct. 28. Fanatics already has Brady. Now it adds a well-known actor with real collecting credibility.
In our view, the bigger story is the Kimmel slot. A network late-night show gave airtime to opening packs and launching a break channel. That’s new mainstream reach for a format many casual fans have never seen.
That reach cuts both ways. Breaks are random. Buyers pay for a slot, not a specific card. New viewers drawn in by a celebrity may not know that going in.
By the numbers
- Nov. 4: Summer Breaks’ launch date on Fanatics Live
- 7: days a week the channel will stream
- Up to 5: monthly appearances expected from Roberts
- ~100: active shops on Fanatics Live, per Collectibles on SI
- 12/50: the numbered Brady Bowman Draft auto the couple is chasing
What collectors should do
- Know the break format before you buy. Ask whether it’s a random team, pick-your-team or hit draft.
- Check the product and the case count. A legitimate break shows sealed product and lists exactly what’s being opened.
- Set a budget. Treat a break slot as entertainment, not an investment.
- Watch a stream before buying in, so you know how the host handles shipping and disputes.
