Five of six leaders are cooling. Kobe isn’t.

Measured against our own reading four days ago, only the Kobe rookie is gaining ground.

RazMania re-measured its 51-card board this morning. Six cards are up on a trailing 30-day median against the 60 days before it — but five of the six are up by less than they were on August 6. The 1996-97 Topps Chrome Kobe Bryant rookie in PSA 9 is the exception.

Why it matters

A single reading tells you a card moved. Two readings tell you whether the move is still happening. This is our second measurement of the same basket, and the shape of it is a rally that is running out of road rather than broadening out. Eleven of the 18 cards we can measure are up, seven are down, and the leaders are converging toward the pack.

Kobe is the only card on the list gaining rather than fading. Its 30-day median moved to $3,848 from $3,000 in the prior window, and its reading four days ago was +23.7%. That is a card still finding higher prices while LeBron, Luka and the Jordan PSA 8 all print smaller gains than they did last week.

Reality check

Three cautions, and they matter more than the leaderboard. Brady shows no comparison because it produced zero usable sales in our August 6 run, so treat its +58.0% as a first reading rather than a confirmed trend. The Kobe and Jordan PSA 8 readings both rest on 10 confirmed sales in the last 30 days, our minimum. And we are deliberately not publishing a figure for the Jordan rookie in PSA 9: its sales are spread far too widely across the same grade for a median to mean anything, and its reading has swung from positive to negative in four days. When one grade of a card behaves nothing like the grade above it, the data is usually the problem, not the market.

What's next

We measure this basket daily and re-pull it weekly. The question for this week is whether Kobe keeps diverging from the group, and whether anything outside basketball joins the top of the board. Right now it is one Pokemon card and five sports rookies.

How we track this

RazMania tracks a fixed watchlist of 51 cards across 8 verticals, re-measured weekly. Medians use confirmed eBay sold prices only — best-offer-accepted listings are excluded, because eBay publishes the seller’s asking price on those and not what was actually paid; 1286 such rows were removed this cycle. A card is only called a mover with at least 5 sales in the trailing 30 days, 8 in the 60 days before that, and a move of 15.0% or more. Cards whose sales spread wider than 3.0x from the 25th to the 75th percentile are dropped as contaminated pools rather than reported. 18 of 51 cards produced a valid two-window read. Data through 2026-08-09. eBay reports sold date, not sold time.
