Hand-drawn Jordan sketch card tops Wednesday at $6,200

A one-of-a-kind sketch card with an on-card autograph has no comparable sales to price it against.
A 2012 Upper Deck Master Collection Masterpieces sketch card of Michael Jordan, autographed and described by the seller as numbered to 30, sold for $6,199.95 on eBay Wednesday. It was the top qualifying single-card Jordan sale of the day, by a factor of three.
Why it matters
Sketch cards are hand-drawn originals, so no two are alike and the usual comp logic does not apply. Buyers are pricing artwork and scarcity, not condition — which is why this one sold raw, with no grade attached, and still cleared three times the next-highest sale.
By the numbers
- $6,199.95 — the top qualifying single-card Jordan sale Wednesday. A buy-it-now, no bidding.
- 27 sales, $23,529 — total qualifying single-card volume for the day, median $520.
- $500 — the trailing 90-day median across a 143-sale sample.
Zoom in
The race for second was decided by one cent. A 1997 SkyBox E-X2001 #9 in PSA 9 closed at $2,000.00; a 1988 Fleer All-Star #120, also PSA 9, closed at $1,999.99. Two cards printed 9 years apart, same grade, effectively the same money.
Reality check
- No comp baseline for the lead card. Our pipeline found too few comparable sales to quote a median honestly, which is the correct answer for a hand-drawn one-off. We are not inventing one.
- The print run is the seller’s claim. “/30” comes from the listing title and is not independently verified here.
- 8 of the 27 sales were accepted best offers, carrying $5,729 of the day’s total. eBay publishes the asking price on those, not what was actually paid.
- One day is not a trend.

How we track this
RazMania monitors completed eBay sales daily, filtering out multi-card lots, reprints, and cross-listed items to isolate genuine single-card sales. Prices are final sold prices. Comparable-sale medians are calculated from 143 verified sales over the trailing 90 days. eBay reports sold date, not sold time.
