Why it matters

Yesterday this card was a reason to buy: sellers anchored to spring comps while the market ran ahead of them. That gap has inverted. A trailing 30-day median rolls the July peak into today’s number, so anyone pricing off it is quoting a market that no longer exists — and this time the error runs against the buyer.
