The card market isn’t hot. Four cards are.

Of 16 cards we could measure on confirmed sales, 12 moved less than 15% either way.

RazMania now measures 16 cards across six categories on their trailing 30-day median against the 60 days before it. Four are up more than 15%. The other 12 sit in a band between -10.6% and +13.8%, with a median move of 4.6%.

Why it matters

Read the headlines this week and the hobby looks like it is running. It is not. The move is concentrated in a handful of names with a reason to move, and basketball rookies are doing nearly all of the work. If you are pricing a card that is not on the short list, the last 30 days probably did not change what it is worth.

The flat 12 are not obscure cards. They include a PSA 10 Ken Griffey Jr. Upper Deck rookie at +3.1%, a PSA 9 John Elway rookie at +1.4%, a PSA 10 Umbreon VMAX alt art at 0.0%, and a PSA 10 Kylian Mbappe World Cup rookie at -2.1%. These are liquid, heavily traded cards with real sample behind them. They simply did not move.

Reality check

Four is a small list, and three of those four are basketball. That is a category story, not a market story, and we would not stretch it into one. Two of the four also rest on thin recent samples: the Jordan PSA 8 has 10 confirmed sales in the last 30 days against 37 in the prior window, and the Kobe has 12 against 10. We publish those with the counts attached rather than without them. Separately, only 16 of the 51 cards we track produced a read we would stand behind, mostly because the rest have sales pools that mix inserts and parallels with base copies.

What's next

The watchlist is re-measured weekly. The number worth watching is breadth, not the leaders: if the flat 12 start moving together, that is a market. Four names moving is four names moving.

How we track this

RazMania tracks a fixed watchlist of 51 cards across 8 verticals, re-measured weekly. Medians use confirmed eBay sold prices only — best-offer-accepted listings are excluded, because eBay publishes the seller’s asking price on those and not what was actually paid; 1051 such rows were removed this cycle. A card is only called a mover with at least 5 sales in the trailing 30 days, 8 in the 60 days before that, and a move of 15.0% or more. Cards whose sales spread wider than 3.0x from the 25th to the 75th percentile are dropped as contaminated pools rather than reported. 16 of 51 cards produced a valid two-window read. Data through 2026-08-06. eBay reports sold date, not sold time.
